Jeff Rienstra is an outdoor enthusiast who has fished and hunted throughout his life.  His stories are derived from the active imagination of a child that carried over well into adulthood.  The grass flats of Pine Island Sound off Captiva Island, Florida, and Montague swamp, on Canada Creek Ranch, where the Amen took shape years ago, are Jeff’s two favorite places on earth. After an unexpected condition briefly sidelined Rienstra in his mid-20s, he regrouped, sat down at a word processor, and began typing out some thoughts.  28 years and multiple revisions later, stepping away and then picking it back up again many times over, his vision for The Rogue finally came to fruition.  The Amen Beckons now continues that tale.  Rienstra, a graduate of Lansing Waverly High School and Alma College, was born and raised in Lansing, Michigan where he currently resides with his wife and daughter.
